View From the Stand

Good afternoon to you all. I hope the expat Australians had a great day on Tuesday This under 19 cricket world cup now on in Christchurch has unearthed some very promising players Mitchell Marsh, and Alister Mc Dermot from Australia the Bracewells from New Zealand, Paul Stirling from Ireland and Jason Holder from the West Indies. Jason Holder, the tall young Barbados pacemen, looks set to have a big future in West Indies cricket. Already a senior member of the under-19 side, he received the prestigious Lord Gavron trophy in 2009. An award that has previously been awarded to Kemar Roach now a vital part of the senior West Indian side
Holder has played one first class game and he wants to increase that number and eventually make it at a higher level. “I want to keep progressing from here as a young cricketer,” he said. “Development is a crucial part of my cricket now, I just want to let it develop and play professional cricket this year”.
He used to play basketball, but cricket is now the premier sport in his life. He is such a cricket fanatic that he is rumored to sleep with his cricket gear next to him.
